Recycling NEW! Curbside now accepts clear, green and brown glass; #1 - #7 plastic bottles, tubs, trays and cups (no foam); #2 or #4 plastic grocery carry-out bags. Materials are collected in a two stream sort and special bags are available at the Township Office. Place newspapers, brown paper bags, cardboard, box board (cereal and cracker boxes with liners removed; no microwave or refrigerated food containers), magazines, junk mail and phonebooks in one Allied bag. Glass bottles and jars, kitchen metals, empty aerosol cans and plastic items can be combined in a separate Allied Waste bag. Food containers should be rinsed clean Monitored Depot. Styrofoam, large corrugated boxes, appliances and tires can be taken to the monitored depot site: Salem Township Transfer Station, near Burnips on 29th Street, 1/4 mile south of 142nd Avenue. Open on the 1st and 3rd Saturdays of each month, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Closed January and February. You must present your Resource Recovery card. Household batteries sealed in zip lock bags, can now be recycled with commingled containers in your curbside collection program.
